With Helsinki starting its year as World Design Capital, we have created a special tour which focuses on Food Design in the Finnish capital. Mouth-watering dining experiences plus a private guided food-themed tour. And plenty of free time too, to enjoy the various World Design Capital events.
DAY 1 Arrival to Helsinki
Personal arrival to Helsinki. Enjoy a Welcome Drink at your hotel before heading out to dinner - a unique tasting menu of modern Finnish cuisine, each of the 5 courses paired with its own cocktail. Different, and surprising.

DAY 2 Helsinki
Private guided walking tour of gourmet Helsinki.
Visit the outdoor markets, historic indoor Market Halls, and some local food & deli stores. The tour ends at a café to enojy a typical Finnish coffee break with a cinnamon roll.
The afternoon is free to use your included Helsinki tourist card to explore the Finnish Capital, perhaps taking on some of the World Design Capital events.

DAY 3 Departure
The map centres on the harbour, home to Helsinki's bustling open-air market, a great place to see fresh fish, fruit and vegetables on sale direct from the suppliers, or taste some local fast food that you won't find at home.
During 2012, Helsinki is the World Design Capital. Whilst Finland already enjoys an internationally-known design tradition, Helsinki was chosen for the title of "World Design Capital" based not on its skill in producing "pretty things", but for its ability to use design to actually improve life. A variety of changing exhibitions will therefore co-exist alongside such things as urban revitalisation projects. Educational as well as entertaining, there should be something for everyone.
